Testimonials
"I'm sure when I ponder my life experiences, during the twilight of my years, I will regard my six weeks in Thailand as six of the most sensational weeks of my life... I traveled to Thailand hoping for an enriching experience. What I found exceeded my wildest expectations."

HOW TO APPLY : VOLUNTEER VACATIONS
Please note that the online application is only for those who wish to begin their enrollment in a specific GSC Program.

If you wish to request more information about our programs, click here.

This page includes instructions for applying to Volunteer Vacations. If you wish to enroll in a Service-Learning Program, please click here.

If you are under 20 years of age, please see the expanded instructions here.

Global Service Corps (GSC) recommends you begin the enrollment process by submitting your initial application materials at least 75 days prior to the start date of your desired program. This timeframe provides time to complete your Application Form and other additional participant documents to be provided after GSC receives your initial application material. Applications should be submitted early to ensure adequate time to access and complete the additional participant documents so that will not be subject to the 50-day late fee or cancellation. For the “Cancellation and Refund Policy,” click here. If you initiate your enrollment process after the 50-day deadline, your enrollment will be subject to a rush enrollment fee. For “Late Applicants and Rush Enrollment Fees” information, click here

Enrollment in a GSC Volunteer Vacation of 4 steps:

Step 1: Decide when to go on your Volunteer Vacation based on our start dates.

Step 2: Go to the Apply Now page and submit your personal information and a MyGSC username and password. Then select your destination, vacation’s start date and duration. (Unlike service-learning applicants you do not need to submit a resume or personal statement.)

Step 3: Download a Volunteer Vacation Application Form to be mailed back to the GSC office. Mail this form to: Global Service Corps, 3543 18th Street, #14, San Francisco, CA 94110

Step 4: Pay your $200 deposit either online or send a personal check or money order (payable to Global Service Corps) along with your Application Form.

When GSC receives the completed Application Form and deposit, we will send an email notifying you that your MyGSC page is activated. On your MyGSC page you will be able to access volunteer vacation fee balance, other required participant forms and their due dates, and details about how to complete your enrollment.

To ensure placement into the GSC Volunteer Vacation of your choice, some of these participant documents along with your final payment of fees must be received in the GSC San Francisco office no later than 50 days prior to the scheduled start date; other documents and information must be received in the GSC San Francisco office no later than 25 days prior to the scheduled start date. Your placement will be subject to a $200 late fee or cancellation if any of the required documents or program fees are received in the GSC San Francisco office after the 50-day due date, or the other required documents and information are received in the GSC San Francisco office after the 25-day due date.

GSC accepts applicants on a first-come first-served basis. You can speed up your enrollment and facilitate acceptance into your chosen volunteer vacation by submitting your Participant Documents before the stated due dates.

Cancellation, Deferral and Refund Policy:
GSC reserves the right to cancel programs for any reason, including insufficient number of participants. If for any reason GSC cancels a program before its start date, a full refund of all fees paid to GSC will be given. However, if GSC does not receive in the San Francisco office ALL required completed participant forms and program fees 10 days after the 50 day due date, GSC will cancel the participant’s individual program and will retain 50% of the program fees. If GSC does not receive in the San Francisco office all required completed participant forms 5 days after the 25 day due date GSC will cancel the participant’s individual program and will retain 75% of the program fees GSC recommends express mailing the necessary participant forms to ensure that they are received on time. GSC is not responsible for other expenses incurred by participants in preparation for the trip (airline tickets, visas, immunizations, the Tanzania resident permit required by the Tanzanian government, travel insurance, etc.).

Late Applicants and Rush Enrollment Fees
An applicant who applies less than 50 days prior to the program start date will be considered a late applicant and will be classified as a rush enrollment. Rush enrollments are assessed an additional charge of $200 to facilitate fast tracking placements abroad. At the time of submitting the application material, the late applicant must include ALL fees, and must be made by cashier’s check or money order payable to “Global Service Corps.” These fees include the $200 deposit, $200 rush enrollment fee and the standard program fees (see GSC’s published schedule and fees for program costs). GSC does not accept applications received less than 40 days prior to the scheduled start dates of the applicant’s program.

After GSC receives all of your application materials, you will be given admittance to your MyGSC Page where you will have access to the participant forms you will need to complete and submit to GSC. GSC must receive in the office within ten days of application all participant forms normally due by the 50-day deadline or your program will be cancelled. Late applicants are expected to submit the other remaining participant information on the scheduled 25-day due date. An additional $200 late fee will be applied if this due date is missed. All remaining 25-day deadline items must be received by GSC 20 days before the program start date or the applicant’s program will be cancelled.
